As a Tucson Sports Photographer, I get to photograph Arizona football quite often in big games. This game against Oregon State would have given Arizona an opportunity to go to the Rose Bowl with a win, so there was a lot on the line. It was pretty low scoring and was really boring in the first half (3-3 at half-time.) Arizona was up 17-16 late after OSU missed an extra-point and looked like they would actually win, but Oregon State drove 73 yards in the final 1:27 to kick a 27-yard field goal as time expired to win 19-17. This was my first football game I’ve shot in over 2 years and can be pretty exhausting, but I love documenting everything around the stadium as well, not just the sports action. This game featured some big time future NFL sports stars like Rob Gronkowski and Brooks Reid of Arizona. Being from Tucson and a fan or Arizona, it’s hard to watch your team lose, but you have to be professional and cover the story. The images of the Arizona players in defeat at the end were not what I was wanting to capture, but a good Tucson Sports Photographer needs images like this to tell the story.
